That is some serious stuff. The new trailer for Point Break was released on Tuesday, May 26, and it looks even more extreme than the 1991 original.

In the remake, Australian hunk Luke Bracey (The Best of Me) plays undercover FBI agent Johnny Utah, replacing Keanu Reeves in the classic role. His opponent Bodhi is portrayed by Edgar Ramirez, who replaces the late Patrick Swayze as the philosophical, thrill-seeking criminal genius.

The teaser opens with a jetliner soaring through the clouds. Suddenly, two men hiding in the aircraft open up the plane and skydive alongside piles of secured money. They then unleash the bills above South Asia, allowing presumably millions of dollars to trickle down to the civilians below.

Utah then enters the frame. "I believe that like me, the people behind these robberies are extreme athletes," he says during an FBI briefing. "Using their skills to disrupt the international financial markets. And they don't care who gets killed in the process."

Indeed, the teaser shows action-packed gun fights, parties on a yacht, intense rock climbing and surfing scenes and plenty of anarchic explosive madness. Utah, meanwhile, goes undercover to finagle his way into the group with the mission of bringing them down. Instead, he joins their brotherhood and his loyalties are questioned by his mentor at the FBI (Ray Winstone).

"We can get these guys. I just need more time," Utah pleads at one point in the trailer. Things, of course, get even more complex with a love interest (Teresa Palmer), and Utah's friendship with Bodhi.

"The only thing that matters is gravity," Bodhi says, as he falls backwards into a waterfall. While the action is all there, fans are none too pleased.

Dear Hollywood, you can't duplicate the magic of Swayze, the awkwardness of Keanu and the comedic craziness of Busey. Point Break was perfect

I'm going to stand up for 13 yr old me and refuse to watch this new version of Point Break. The original has no flaws.

It's simple people – if we stop paying to see things like the unnecessary "Point Break" remake – they'll be forced to stop making them
