How the Glee Cast Has Roasted the Show After Its Series Finale

Even some of Glees former stars agree that there were messy plotlines that deserved a slushy in the face. The Fox series ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2015. In August 2021, Darren Criss (who portrayed Blaine) called The Fox by Ylvis, which was featured on season 5, the shows worst cover.

The Fox series ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2015. In August 2021, Darren Criss (who portrayed Blaine) called “The Fox” by Ylvis, which was featured on season 5, the show’s worst cover.

“It was so weird,” Criss explained on the “LadyGang” podcast. “It was one of these 15 minutes of fame for this song and they just decided to put it into the show. I had fun because it was ridiculous. … The more absurd it is, the funnier it is to me. So I’m sure there were people who were like, ‘What the f—k is this?’ and I was like, ‘I know, right?!’”

Criss’ admission is hardly the first time a Glee alum called out the show for its confusing character arcs or bizarre song choices. The show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, also had a few numbers that he regretted including on the series.

“I am mortified that we did ‘Gangnam Style’ by Psy. I will say, like, not our finest moment,” Murphy said during a February 2017 interview on Watch What Happens Live! With Andy Cohen.
