Nick Stokes is about to solve his final case! CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is set to lose another one of its original cast members at the end of season 15, TV Guide reports. Actor George Eads, who has played Nick since the pilot episode in 2000, will be making his exit at the end of the current season.

A source tells the site that his departure is “amicable” and that his character’s exit “will be connected to the resolution of the Gig Harbor Killer case.” But there’s no word yet on whether Nick will be killed off the show or simply leave the CSI team.

Eads, 47, isn’t the first original cast member to withdraw from the series. Stars William Petersen, Gary Dourdan, Marg Helgenberger, Paul Guilfoyle, and Jorja Fox have all bowed out of the hit CBS crime procedural.

During salary disputes in 2004, Eads and Fox were temporarily fired from the show, but both were eventually brought back. Eads has appeared in more episodes than any other actor.
