The joy of his life. Chris Stapleton continues to prioritize his family even while he’s on the road.

The “Traveller” artist met his now-wife, Morgane Stapleton, while they were both writing songs for the same Nashville publishing company. They exchanged vows in 2007 and have continued to collaborate with one another since.

“Make no mistake, [Morgane’s hands are] always all over everything,” the eight-time Grammy winner told Rare Country in 2017. “She’s my Jiminy Cricket in a lot of ways. She’s the voice of reason, because I’m not always reasonable.”

Chris shed light on their dynamic in the studio, teasing: “She’s been known to make me change keys on something. She’ll be like, ‘Sing higher.’ I’m like, ‘Alright.’ I get lazy on keys sometimes. I’ll key it lower, that way I can sing it lower live. She won’t let me get lazy on stuff like that. She knows when I’m doing it, and nobody else does.”

While celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary in October of that year, Morgane announced that she was pregnant with twins. (The “Tennessee Whiskey” crooner and his duet partner were already the parents of son Waylon and daughter Ada.)

“14 years, 2 babies, & 2 more on the way. Happy 10 year anniversary babe! You make my whole world go round,” she gushed via Instagram alongside a romantic black-and-white photo of herself and Chris.

Babies No. 3 and 4 arrived in April 2018 — and Reba McEntire was the one to break the news to country music fans. “Chris couldn’t be here cause Morgane’s expecting twins,” the “Fancy” singer said on stage at the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards after Chris won Album of the Year for From a Room: Volume 1. “We just found out that those little rascals came a little bit early. Hot off the press! Twin boys.”

Seven months later, the “Fire Away” artist announced during a New York City concert that he and Morgane were expecting their fifth child. “Some of you may know that we have four children,” Chris told the crowd in November 2018. “We just had twins, about seven months ago. Now there’s four for us, but we’re gonna make it five!”

Morgane gave birth to another baby boy in May 2019, but the proud parents have yet to reveal the little one’s name. As his family continues to grow, Chris has remained fiercely protective of his kids.

“I signed up for this, my children did not. I am a very private person, and in that respect, I keep my children out of it. They’re children, and they deserve the chance to be children,” he told The Boot in 2018.

When the music industry shut down due to the COVID-19 crisis in 2020 and 2021, prompting many A-listers to pause their tours, the “Broken Halos” singer cherished the extra time he had with his loved ones.

“The silver lining and the mixed blessing during the pandemic for me is I’ve gotten to spend more time being a dad and being with my children than I’ve ever gotten to do, certainly as a touring musician. I have three children under the age of 3 and I have two older ones that are 12 and 10,” he told UMG Nashville in April 2021. “When I go in to get the boys in the morning and I open the door, they say ‘Daddy’ before I even open the door, and I’ve never really had that before. So, that’s kind of a neat thing for me to get to have that, so I’m thankful for that and I’m grateful for that. As much as I look forward to getting back out on the road, I’ll miss a little bit of that.”
