Amber Portwood appeared on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant in 2009 before starring on the spinoff series Teen Mom and Teen Mom OG from 2009 to 2021. Portwood welcomed daughter Leah with ex Gary Shirley in November 2008. Shirley gained full custody of Leah in 2011, one year after a fight between the former couple resulted in Portwood’s arrest. She was charged with three felonies and one misdemeanor in the domestic violence case.

Portwood welcomed son James with Andrew Glennon in May 2018, but the couple split in 2019 after Portwood was charged with domestic battery against Glennon. Portwood returned to MTV for 2022’s Teen Mom: Family Reunion and 2023’s Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.
